Brewery History

The Los Angeles Brewery Art Colony is known as the largest live-and-work artists’ colony in the world. It’s home to a variety of artists and performers including painters, sculptors, photographers, weavers, industrial designers, and interactive new media and amusement makers. The compound is a scattering of former warehouses, most notably an old Edison Electric Steam Power Plant with an iconic chimney dating back to 1903. The Brewery earned its name when it transformed from Edison Electric to a Pabst Blue Ribbon brewery.

The Brewery Artwalk

The Brewery ArtWalk is a twice annual open studio weekend at the worlds largest art complex. With over 100 participating residentartists, you’ll have the opportunity to see new works, discover new favorites, speak with the artists, and purchase artwork directly from the artists’ studios. During Artwalk we open our Big Top to the public where they have the opportunity to play our latest games, participate in interactive puzzles and social experiments, and get a behind the scenes look at our mad inventor world.
